Looking for direction with your ICT?
If you are one of the many schools having trouble making the most of what you’ve got, then Kamazoy can help.
Over 10 years’ experience
We’ve been working with educational partners and developing existing ICT platforms for over ten years; working with schools to explore what is being done, and what more that can be done to make the most of an existing ICT provision, without major expenditure. Schools working with Kamazoy are able to identify and build on strengths, grow in confidence and gain inspiration to transforming existing ICT systems into something that truly delivers benefit without the need for massive outlay or upheaval.
A complete 360° report
Kamazoy’s consultants are trained, experienced and qualified to uncover the exact items that are holding back a school’s ICT development.
We have worked with many organisations and bodies and are connected to industry-leading companies and service providers who regularly feed us with new information and systems which we individually evaluate and assess for suitability within hundreds of schools across the United Kingdom. If there’s a system or product that your school can use to enhance ICT and learning within the classroom, we’ll know about it and we’ll be able to advise and consult on it with you.
Our ICT Roadmap will give you a complete report covering the following key areas of a school’s ICT:
- Hardware Refresh (hardware age, suitability, value for money)
- Management & Documentation (licensing, disaster recovery)
- Technical Staff (effectiveness, efficiency, knowledge)
- Teaching Staff (literacy, strengths, confidence)
- Peripherals (suitability, longevity, warranty)
- IWBs & Projectors (effectiveness, maintenance, appreciation)
- Desktop & Notebook Computers (stability, suitability, effectiveness)
- iPads & Tablets (whether in use or should be in use)
- Servers & Hardware (age, suitability, value)
- Network, Power, Environment & Cooling (safety, power efficiency, power cut procedures)
What does the process look like?
We’re proud of our process – we know it’s as crisp and concise as possible, will pose the minimal amount of disruption and interruption to your school and will be highly efficient. All the information we need to write a comprehensive report will be gathered in a short two-day window of interviewing, surveying and questioning.
When your appointment for your Kamazoy consultant arrives, here is what you can expect:
The first day of our visit we will meet with the Head Teacher and the Senior Leadership Team and any other people who the school wish to be involved in the process.
Your appointed consultant then spends the first half of the day with the Network Manager and his team, surveying the technical side of the network, including examining documentation, systems, processes and taking measurements of efficiency and value.
The second half of the day is spent interviewing the ICT team, following up on any questions raised during the day and requesting any information from the Network Manager for overnight analysis.
Day two is a continuation of the first day, but the area of focus is away from the technology and more on its customers – the students and staff.
With the school’s permission we will inspect lessons, watching for examples of how ICT is used and how students connect with the ICT and what happens when assistance is required or problems arise. We also interview groups of students, groups or individual members of staff, and present a brief summary of our findings at the end of the second day.
Two days are allocated to write up and investigate everything that we’ve seen and encountered and to allow ourselves to reach conclusions from the evidence gathered. During this time we’ll also make contact with any technology vendors who we think will be able to help the school along the way.
The process is concluded with the report being presented to the Head Teacher and/or original members present in the first meeting on the first day. Typically this lasts for between 2 and 4 hours and involves full dissection of the report, analysis of any supporting evidence and also allows for a question/answer session with your nominated consultant.
